Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the KurdLingo mobile app (“KurdLingo”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using KurdLingo you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) your profile photo. If you continue as a guest, we only store the name you enter.
• Learning progress. Levels you complete, XP, stars, daily streaks, and exam results, so your progress is saved and syncs across your devices.
• Profile photo. A photo you choose to upload, shown on your profile, the leaderboard, and to friends.
• Friends. Friend connections you make. Your name and photo are visible to people you add as friends.
• Messages to the AI teacher. The text you send to the in-app English teacher, so it can reply and correct your mistakes.
• Notifications. A device notification token, so we can send you learning reminders (only if you allow notifications).
• Device & usage data. Basic technical data and advertising identifiers used to show ads and keep the app working.

How we use your information

• To provide the lessons, save your progress, and sync it across devices.
• To power features you choose to use: the AI teacher, friends, the leaderboard, and streaks.
• To send optional notifications, such as reminders to practise.
• To show ads that help keep the app free.
• To keep KurdLingo secure and to fix problems.

Third-party services

KurdLingo uses trusted services to run these features. Your information may be processed by:

• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — to let you log in securely.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications.
• Google AdMob — to show ads (may use advertising identifiers).
• Google Gemini AI — the text you send to the AI teacher (and answers you get wrong, for explanations) is sent to Google’s AI to generate a reply. Please don’t share sensitive personal information in those messages.

We do not sell your personal information. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Where your data is stored

Your account and progress are stored on our servers and with the services listed above. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your choices and rights

• Play as a guest without creating an account.
• Edit your name and photo any time in the app’s Profile screen.
• Turn notifications and ad tracking on or off in your device settings.
• Delete your account and data — contact us at the address below and we’ll remove your account information.

Children’s privacy

KurdLingo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
